 Porta-King Building Systems is proud to support the efforts of security professional that are tasked with improving security at our nation’s seaports. We manufactured this highly customized 10’x 30’ port security building for use at this secured entrance located in this major Southeastern seaport. This prefabricated building provides shelter the personnel responsible for checking trucks in and out of the port. This building also provides shelter for the sophisticated equipment used by security personnel. Like all Porta-King preassembled buildings, these units shipped fully assembled from our factory.
The portable design allowed port security personnel to immediately occupy the structure after it was placed onto the existing concrete slab. This building included a multitude of custom features that served to enhance both form and faction. Recessed lights were included around the perimeter to illuminate the area for nighttime operations. Entry and exit lights were installed in the roof fascia to assist in controlling truck traffic.
Heavy-duty top suspended sliding doors were used in lieu of swing doors to allow port personnel to enter and exit the building without creating a traffic hazard. Retractable shutters were included on all windows for protection against hurricane force winds. Due to the remote location the port authority also requested Porta-King install a complete restroom facilities and kitchen area inside this structure. Aesthetic features included a 28” raised roof fascia to conceal a roof top H.V.A.C. unit. Custom raised steel panels were added around the perimeter of this structure to create a unique appearance.
