 This two story modular control room includes angled walls to enable full view of plan floor activities. This structure also includes windows on all four sides to further enhance the view. Support for the second floor was achieved by use of a two level structural steel mezzanine. Note that the stairs in the photo are included to provide access to the second level through a doorway that sets back into an alcove custom designed by Porta-King at the customer’s request. A structural steel tube frame was used to create the support structure for the ceiling above the alcove.
Porta-King's project management team provided turn-key installation service to construct this two-story control room. All materials used to construct this structure arrived pre-cut and mitered, ready for installation. All components are designed in-house by our engineering department. A detailed list of components and with corresponding dimensions for all are then sent to our manufacturing facility for production.
Utilizing a prefabricated design enabled the crew who assembled this control room to complete the project in a fraction of the time it would have required had they utilized conventional construction methods. Because we also manufactured the mezzanine utilized in this structure our customer had the added advantage of a single source supplier. Our single source capability ensures the customer a perfect fit for the modular walls and the structural components that make up the mezzanine.
