This structural steel mezzanine supplied by PK Structures a Porta-King / Kelly Klosures Enterprise is being used to create additional storage space at this manufacturing facility.
Mezzanines can dramatically increase floor space by utilizing existing ceiling space. Because of the prefabricated design, construction time is dramatically less than the time required for an on-site fabricated structure.
The area below this structural steel mezzanine was wrapped with a wire partition system to create a secured area for storing valuable inventory. The top of the wire partition is tied into the mezzanine structure to provide added stability. The structural steel mezzanine was designed to provide sufficient load capacity for the application.
Porta-King representatives met on-site with the customer to discuss this and other specific design features that would be required in the final structural steel mezzanine design. The standard flooring for our mezzanines is Oriented Strand Board (OSB), but our prefabricated mezzanines can be supplied with a variety of finished floor options to meeting special application requirements.
A fully assembled stair was supplied for this structural steel mezzanine to provide easy access to the top of the mezzanine deck. A single piece handrail was supplied for both sides of the structural steel mezzanine stair. Guardrail was also supplied for the perimeter for added security.
All Porta-King mezzanines are panted with a two-part epoxy paint to create a finished surface capable of withstanding the heavy usage common in most industrial applications.
