| Range Tower at Military Base |
Porta-King supplied this 30’ range tower to allow military personnel to monitor fighter pilot target practice at this undisclosed base. Porta-King also supplied the preassembled building that shelters personnel during target practice. The preassembled building on top of this 30’ tower allows personnel to monitor and record the accuracy of the jets while maintaining a safe distance from the action. The preassembled building also shelters the equipment used by the military, protecting it from the elements. The structural framework of this range tower is galvanized to assure long life even when exposed to moisture.
A caged ladder was included to allow personnel access to the portable building while protecting them from falling while climbing to to gain access to the booth. Porta-King offered the military the added benefit of single sourcing for the both products.
Because we manufacturer both products we take complete responsibility for the fit and finish of the entire project. Porta-King supplied engineering calculations through our third party engineering firm confirming that this range tower was designed in compliance with the established structural code requirements for the area. Porta-King also created detailed approval drawings for an on-site review of the layout design prior to fabrication of the portable building or guard tower. Because Porta-King also supplied the portable building for this project, we included detailed drawings for both structures, including anchoring details for the connection the portable building to the deck of the tower.
