Structural Steel Mezzanine

Expand your operation by making use of unused space above your existing floor. Eliminate the high cost of adding on to the perimeter of your building. It's less costly to go "up" than "out."
Every structural steel mezzanine system is compliant with the new 2000 International Building Code (IBC 2000). IBC is a combined effort of the three model code groups, and was drafted by representatives of BOCA, ICBO, and SBCCI. The new code is a comprehensive set of regulations for building systems, consistent with and inclusive of the latest existing model codes.
Compliance with this new code is accomplished in part through PK Structures' utilization of an exclusive Type 3 beam-to-column connection. Only a PK structures mezzanine includes gusseted, beam seat connection as a standard design feature in all Type 3 connections. This unique design creates an incredibly rigid mezzanine platform with outstanding resistance to sway, while eliminating the need for additional bracing in most applications. Fully rigid beam-to-column connections are available for areas with extreme siesmic requirements. With the introduction of PK Structures, Porta-King Building Systems now offers complete integration for any application that includes mezzanines and modular buildings.
