| Modular Portable Building with Lexan Glazing |
This is a 9’ x 16’ modular portable building. This portable building is being used to create an office on the plant floor of this manufacturing facility. Unlike our other modular buildings, this one was shipped fully assembled from our factory. Because this building was constructed on top of a prefabricated floor structure, it can be easily moved from location to location by use of a forklift. Simply disconnect the electrical connection and your ready to relocate. The 3" thick walls also provided excellent thermal insulation and sound control.
The ceiling was also constructed using modular panels in lieu of our standard steel deck with drop ceiling design. These panels help to create a rigid framework to support the building during transportation. Because the panels include an insulating core, they also enhance the sound and thermal control of the structure. This design also maximizes the interior clearance for the finished ceiling because they are installed on top of the wall panels. From the end users perspective, the biggest advantage was the cost savings they realized by avoiding the cost and disruption caused by on-site construction. Although a modular portable building can be assembled considerably faster than conventional construction, a fully assembled portable building eliminated on-site construction altogether. Because the building can be easily transported with a forklift, within minutes, the customer can create a clean, comfortable, separate working area anywhere in the plant.
The customer requested Lexan in lieu of tempered glass to help secure the expensive electronics equipment that was to be stored inside this building.
We offer free on-site design assistance through our network of Porta-King representatives. One of our local representatives will be happy to review your current requirements and to show you advantages of using our modular portable buildings the next time you need to add office space out on your plant floor. |
