| In-Plant Office for Parts Distribution |
This in-plant office system was installed inside this factory for use as a parts distribution center. This system included several optional features to enhance the functionality of the building specific to this application. A stainless steel counter was added along with a horizontal sliding window to enable transactions between factory personnel. In addition, a roof system with storage loading capacity was included to give the customer the option of storing an inventory of additional parts on top of the building if needed. A structural guard rail was installed to enhance the safety of the factory personnel who go up top to access additional parts inventory.
The modular design of this in-plant office enabled assembly in a fraction of the time required for a conventionally built enclosure. In addition, the modular design will allow the customer to easily modify this building in the future if necessary. All of the modular components of this building are 100 percent reusable. Because this is modular, it can be quickly dis-assembled and re-assembled at another location. Guard rail can also be added as in this application to protect the modular walls of this parts distribution building from the abuse of fork trucks or pallet jacks.
The owner chose a white vinyl covered drywall finish for the wall panels. Choosing vinyl covered drywall serves two primary purposes. The first is to create a Class 1 fire resistant wall panel. The second is to enhance the sound attenuating properties of the wall. Porta-King offers multiple vinyl covered drywall panel finishes for our different modular wall systems. Porta-King can also incorporate multiple other optional panel surfaces depending on the application. Painted steel, fiberglass reinforced plastic (frp), painted drywall and many other optional modular panel surfaces can be included in the final design.
