| Modular Walls to Create Interior Vestibule |
Porta-King's modular walls were used to construct vestibules inside this Midwest based pharmaceutical manufacturer. This modular vestibule was created using our 3" Versa-King wall system. The vestibule included fixed windows on both sides to allow personnel to see into the area before opening the door. The door also included a window for enhanced safety. The customer also added an electronic entry system to guard against unwanted visitors.
These fixed windows in the wall system included 3/16” tempered safety glass. Our standard fixed window designs utilizes an anodized aluminum frame with removable stops that allow windows to be replaced within minutes should damage occur. This feature was of particular importance based upon the application and the realization that damage to the windows could occur at some point in the future. The all anodized framing was also considered a plus due to the potential exposure to moisture from outside the building.
By using a modular wall system to create this vestibule, it was constructed in a fraction of the time that would have been required for a conventionally built structure. The customer has used modular construction in other parts of their facility. Because of their experience with Porta-King, and knowing the advantages of an industrial partition, the customer again chose this type of construction for this retrofit application.
