| Modular Equipment Enclosure with Tall Wall Panels |
A Porta-King Modular Equipment Enclosure consists of tall wall panels and is used to house this sensitive calibration equipment inside the aeronautics manufacturer. The insulation in this modular enclosure allowed the manufacturer to create the temperature and humidity controlled environment that is required for operation of the calibration equipment located inside. The pre-engineered design of this system enabled this room to be constructed in a fraction of the time required for conventional construction.
Porta-King utilized a single panel construction in this prefabricated wall to further reduce the assembly time and to provide a wall with greater lateral load resistance that could be achieved with a ‘stacked’ panel design. To meet their specific application requirements, the customer created a custom floor plan. Porta-King incorporated the customer's floor plan into the design of this enclosure. This custom floor plan included positioning of doors and windows in pre-determined locations. The customer selected Polycarbonate glazing for both the fixed windows and doors to protect against breakage. We then generated Auto CAD drawings for the customer to review to make certain the layout of this prefabricated wall matched up to their expectations.
The customer reviewed and approved the drawings prior to the start of fabrication at our factory. This process greatly reduces the possibility of uncovering mistakes after the material arrives on-site and avoids delays to the installation process. The customer requested a finished surface of painted steel to protect this prefabricated wall from abuse.
