Porta-King Completes Second Expansion Phase

April 1997 -- Porta-King Building Systems has just opened 40,000 sq. ft. of additional manufacturing space at its Montgomery City, Missouri facility, bringing the total manufacturing area to 100,000 sq. ft.
"This second expansion phase adds 66 percent in additional production space," reports Steve Schulte, President of St. Louis-based Porta-King Building Systems. "The market expansion of our pre-assembled and modular fabricated metal buildings makes this facility expansion a necessity. The expansion essentially doubles our production facility space for our DURASTEEL™, DURASTEEL-PC™ and DURALUMINUM™ product lines. Space for our modular lines of PIVOT-LOCK™, VERSA-KING™ and PANEL-KING™ is increased by 75 percent."
The recently completed expansion will meet the company's production space needs for the next five years, according to Schulte. A third manufacturing facility expansion phase is planned for completion in the next 5 to 7 years. The third phase will bring the Montgomery City facility up to its maximum size of 140,000 sq. ft.
