Porta King Prefabricated Buildings and Shelters Withstand Missouri Tornado

On Friday, April 22nd, 2011 an EF4 Tornado struck the St. Louis metropolitan area at Lambert Airport. This dynamic event completely shut down the Lambert International Airport and caused millions of dollars worth of damage. Luckily, injuries were minimal. Porta King wishes a speedy health and repair recovery to all involved.

Lambert International Airport is a customer of Porta King, having deployed numerous Durasteel and Durasteel PC Prefabricated Buildings and Shelters. These structures are employed as Parking Attendant Buildings and Guard Booths for vehicle inspection officers. Lambert also has Prefabricated Durasteel Shelters used as Transit Shelters in place for shuttle transportation passengers at various remote parking lots.

Despite the terrific forces involved – all of the Porta King Prefabricated Buildings that are deployed throughout Lambert Airport withstood the tornado - they remained intact and in place – with minor exceptions of minor paint abrasion and glass damage due to flying debris. We are very proud that the workmanship and durability of the Porta King product was able to lessen the financial and injury burden of the tragic event.

Porta King Prefabricated Buiildings and Shelters are built with flexibility and durability from design to deployment. Our material strength and construction quality is second to none – as proven by standing strong and steadfast against an amazing obstacle.
