Porta-King designed this guard shack in accordance to the customer’s specific project requirements. Although we offer many standard guard shack sizes, each unit we manufacture will ultimately incorporate special design features unique to our customer’s application requirements. Porta-King used all anodized aluminum construction in the manufacturer of this unit shown in this photograph. We used anodized aluminum for the construction our shacks because it is a maintenance free finish. Other manufacturers use mill finished aluminum or fiberglass reinforced plastic for the finish surface of their shacks. Neither material is as maintenance free as anodized aluminum. This enables Porta-King to offer the best warranty in the industry.
This particular design includes a top suspended sliding door for access into the building. We could have also used a swing door; however, sliding doors are more popular for applications where the booth will be placed in a traffic lane. The sliding door is safer because it does not open into the traffic lane.
This booth, like all Porta-King booths, included an installed roof with an integral gutter on two sides. The roof of this booth also includes a membrane skin on top of the roof to make it weather tight. Standing seam roofs or other custom designs can be added any of our shacks to match the architecture of buildings in the area.
