| Guard Booth Protects Navy Port |
Porta-King Building Systems is proud to support our military in addressing security concerns like this Navy Port as well as other military installations around the globe. This port security guard booth was part of a major security project implemented to enhance security at Navy Ports along the entire Atlantic Coast. Porta-King worked in cooperation with a major defense contractor to create a port security guard booth design that addressed the Navy’s special requirements for this application.
Many of the port security guard booths for this project were placed on top of towers to further enhance security capabilities. These platforms were also manufactured by Porta-King. Special design features were incorporated into the port security guard booth and platforms to create a structure that could withstand Hurricane force winds. A special roof design was created to support the high-powered light that was installed to facilitate night time monitoring of ocean waters around this port.
This Duraluminum model incorporates all anodized aluminum construction to prevent corrosion when exposed to the harsh salty environment of this port. This roof of this guard booth includes an EPS membrane to prevent roof leaks even in heavy rain. The portable design of this booth enabled immediate occupancy after installation. Because we ship our booths fully assembled, including electric, no additional on-site construction is required. The portable design of our booths will also enable the Navy to easily move this structure to another location should the need arise.
