Modular CMM Rooms

This Modular CMM Room was constructed to create an environmentally controlled enclosure to house this coordinate measuing machine, (CMM) used for measuring manufactured components at this Midwest based manufacturer of farming machinary. As you can see in this photo, we included extra tall walls to accommodate the special testing process which takes place inside. The walls of this room are blue to make it easy to identify from others rooms inside this large manufacturing facility.

The anodized aluminum connecting posts frame the wall panels and form a tight fit around window and door frames to create a solid and secure room to house this expensive and highly sensitive coordinate measuring machine(CMM). The anodized aluminum posts won’t rust when exposed to moisture from high humidity or wash down conditions. In addition, these vertical connecting posts of our Versa-King modular wall system also serve as a wiring chase to conceal electrical, data and communication system wiring within the CMM room.

An oversized steel double door was included to allow easy transfer of materials into the room for testing.

The other advantage to using a completely prefabricated wall design is the elimination of the mess created from the on-site cutting of materials they knew would occur with conventional construction. This was of particular importance to this customer because of the concern about dust and debris getting into the equipment they were trying to protect. The prefabricated design was critical in keeping the area of construction extra clean along with the added advantage of dramatically improving the time frame of project completion. The other advantage to this type of prefabricated construction is that all materials can be taken down and reconstructed or reconfigured at a different location.
