Modular Restrooms and Bathrooms

Porta-King modular walls are ideally suited to easily and economically construct restrooms and bathrooms inside manufacturing or warehouse facilities. The restroom shown in this photo was one of several constructed inside a turbine manufacturing facility located in North Carolina. The flexibility of our modular structures enables creation of custom floor plans to address a limitless variety of design options.
In addition to the speed in which restrooms can be completed, our modular design also provides considerable cost savings. Because the construction of restrooms and bathrooms utilizing our modular construction is so much faster our clients save thousands of dollars in reduced labor cost in comparison to the time required for a conventionally built facility. Additional savings will be experienced through the speed of the installation process which dramatically reduces the down time in the area of construction and less disruption to daily business practices.
We use 3" thick wall panels to construct a modular restroom. These walls are designed for outstanding structural performance and include a solid insulating core to provide excellent thermal insulation and sound control. Typically wall construction for a restroom will consist of a ½” layer of plywood concealed inside the panel to provide additional support for attachment of plumbing fixtures and other bathroom accessories. This plywood is glued to a layer of UL Class 1 EPS (expanded polystyrene) to create an insulated core. The EPS and plywood are then glued to either ½” drywall or hardboard depending on the application and the customer’s preference. A layer of fiberglass reinforced plastic (FRP) is added to the interior of the restroom to provide water resistance along with an easy to clean finished surface.
Factory Assembled Option
In addition to providing modular restrooms and bathrooms that are constructed on-site we offer portable restrooms that provide an even faster set up because these units ship to the site already assembled. This includes all plumbing fixtures, piping, electrical and mechanical all pre-installed at our factory. We can even install a complete fire suppression system if desired.
Once the design of a portable restroom is complete, our in-house engineering team begins the process for production by creating detailed approval drawings, showing the location and arrangement of fixtures, plumbing connections and electrical wiring. This allows the customer to prepare the site well in advance of the arrival of their new factory assembled restroom.
