As a custom steel fabricator, the quality, durability and longevity of each shelter is established during Porta-King’s expert manufacturing process.  Our shelters are manufactured of welded steel construction utilizing structural tubing.  A rust inhibitive primer and two coats of air-dry industrial acrylic paint are applied to all steel surfaces.  You may select from a wide array of standard paint colors or an endless palette of custom colors.  We are pleased to match your paint sample without a custom paint charge that you incur with other manufacturers, providing you with an exciting alternative to a generic shelter.

Porta-King shelters are manufactured with a full perimeter of clear tempered safety glass providing a sense of safety and security to patrons waiting for transportation.  Anodized aluminum window framing eliminates the need for routine maintenance while enhancing the longevity of the shelter’s superior aesthetics.  We offer a large selection of glazing options are available to provide you with the opportunity to modify a standard shelter, or, design a custom shelter that will provide a look that is unique to your community.

Most shelters are designed with open doorways and open space at the bottom of the walls to allow for air movement in and out of the shelter.  While this is a design used in many projects, you may need to consider climate or the security aspect of where shelters will need to be located.  As a custom manufacturer, we offer yet another option which incorporates the use of fully enclosed walls, including doors, providing a functional yet attractive design.
