| Bus Shelter for Surface Lot Outside Office Building Complex |
This Midwest retailer is using this bus shelter for pedestrians waiting for bus transportation. Crews off-loaded the single piece unit with forklifts from the back of the flatbed truck and then anchored it into position on the existing concrete pad. The size of the shelter was determined based upon the number of people the customer anticipated it could house at one time. For this particular project, they expected as many as twenty people might be in the shelter at any given time.
Like all Porta-King shelters, this structure is constructed utilizing structural steel tubing to create a highly durable and rigid frame. The fixed windows in this portable bus shelter are tempered safety glass with maintenance free anodized aluminum frames. An aluminum bench was added to this steel bus shelter to provide added comfort for pedestrians.
Benches can be installed along the walls of our shelters for added comfort. All of the benches we supply are pre-installed onto wall panels prior to shipping. All our shelters include an installed roof with gutters located on the two long sides of the structure.
As a standard we also paint all structures with a durable industrial grade acrylic enamel paint finish. Typically we paint shelters any single color the customer selects. Custom paint finishes and multi-color applications are also available. To further protect the exterior structures from rust, we include a bituminous coating on the structural support tubes and anchoring plates. Optional lighting and heat can be added to any shelter to enhance pedestrian comfort. The portable design of this unit, allows it to be easily moved to another location in the future if desired.
