Porta-King's Durasteel (Model SPS solar panel-powered shelter provides a dusk-to-dawn island of light in remote areas where standard electrical service is impractical. Popular environments for the Model SPS include parking lots and mass transit passenger waiting areas such as bus shelters.
The SPS unit features a reliable, built-in battery pack that provides power to its energy efficient lighting system. A reliable roof-mounted solar panel converts sunlight into electrical current that is stored in the long-lasting battery pack. The lighting system can provide illumination for as much as 16 hours when fully charged.
Porta-King's SPS unit arrives fully assembled and ready for installation. The Durasteel shelter features a structural, tubular steel framework and comes in a variety of tough acrylic finishes. The framework is made of 2" X 2" X .120 AST A500 Grade B welded tubing.
