At Protic Evergreen’s manufacturing facility in Little Rock, AR, employees working in warm areas needed a reliable way to cool down during shifts. The company manufactures food containers—a process that can generate sustained heat in certain zones of the plant. Johnson Equipment contacted Porta-King to help develop a solution that would improve working conditions and support employee well-being without disrupting facility operations.
The Solution: Modular Cooling Booths for On-Site Comfort
Porta-King designed a compact, insulated 8’ x 8’ x 8’ Versa-King enclosure constructed with vinyl-covered gypsum board panels. Each unit was outfitted with windows, a door and a dedicated air conditioning system, allowing employees to step inside, cool off and return to work safely and comfortably.
After a successful initial installation, the team developed a smaller 4’ x 4’ x 8’ single-occupant version to meet additional space and cost requirements. These smaller units provide the same benefit in a more compact footprint, which is ideal for high-traffic areas or smaller facilities.
