Windows
Standard wall construction consists of a full glass wall with an open air space below for natural ventilation. Unless otherwise specified, windows are included for the full perimeter of the shelter. Standard glazing is tempered safety glass but other glazing options are available. All windows include maintenance-free clear satin anodized aluminum framing.
Wall Construction
Wall Construction
The structural framework is welded structural steel tubing with a rust inhibitive primer coat and two finish coats of an industrial acrylic enamel. Shelters can be painted any single color for no additional charge. Two tone and other custom paint options are available.
Enclosed Lower Panel
We offer the option of enclosing the open air space of the shelter for installations in colder climates or for enhanced security. Lower panels are a single sheet of 14 gauge steel and painted to match shelter framework.
Full Height Solid Panels
Full height solid panels can be included for any portion of the shelter where equipment will be installed or for an entire wall section to provide privacy or enhance security.
Full Height Glass
Full height glass is often included as an option for our shelters as an architectural feature. Standard glazing is tempered safety glass but other glazing options are available.
Roof Options
Standard Flat Roof With 3" Overhang
Our standard roof is an integral part of the shelter and includes a self-contained gutter system for optimal drainage. All roofs ship installed and are painted to match the color of the shelter framework. Standard fascia height is 5".
Roof With Raised Fascia
Our raised fascia is ideal for shelters that require back-lit signage or for the addition of custom signage on-site. Standard fascias are painted to match the shelter framework. Fascias are available in a variety of heights to fit specific project requirements.
Standing Seam Hip Roof
Our standing seam roofs are a great architectural feature and are available in a variety of custom designs. These roofs are shipped installed and are available in a range of pitches to accommodate individual application requirements.
Acrylic Dome Roof
Our acrylic dome roofs allow light to enter into the shelter while providing ample shade and weather protection. They are available in single or multiple domes depending on the overall size of the shelter and customer preference.
Layout Configurations
Style "A"
Porta-King's Style "A" shelter provides a design that is open across the front. A layout that is well suited for protection from the elements for employees and patrons for non-smoking environments and convenient accessibility for commuters of mass transit systems.
Style "B"
Porta-King's Style "B" shelter provides a design that has one opening for entry and exit. This layout provides a more enclosed structure for applications in harsh climates.
Style "C"
Porta-King's Style "C" shelter provides a design that has one opening at each end. This layout provides a more enclosed structure for applications in harsh climates and those needing a more secure environment.
Accessories
Heaters
Heaters are a popular option for shelters to keep patrons warm in inclement weather. Heaters are factory installed and wired to a junction box for main electrical connection on site. Heaters can include optional timers for user convenience and energy conservation.
Electrical Components
Surface mounted electrical outlets and lights are available to further enhance the speed of installation. All electric devices are wired to a junction box for main electrical connection on site.
Aluminum Benches
Aluminum benches are a popular option to enhance user comfort. Benches are pre-installed to the shelter framework and can be supplied in a variety of custom configurations.
Solar Panel With Battery
An ideal solution for powering lights where electrical power is not available.
