Frequently Asked Questions
How long does it take to assemble?
The advantage to buying a Porta-King security booth is that there is there is no assembly required. The buildings you see in the security booth photo gallery were all constructed at our factory. Once construction is completed, they are shipped to your site ready for immediate occupancy. We do manufacturer larger guard buildings that cannot be shipped over the road in one piece so instead we design them as a single unit, build them in modules, then ship them to your site where they are easily connected onsite to create the final design.
I just need your standard size building.
We offer standard models in specific dimensions for both our Durasteel and Duraluminum security booths but almost every unit we create includes at least a little custom design in order to meet your specific application requirements.
How is the building anchored?
All buildings are supplied with anchor tabs that enable the security booth to be permanently anchored into place. Our Durasteel models include anchor tabs that are already welded to the base frame of the building. Duraluminum security booths include anchor tabs that are shipped loose for installation onsite.
I just need a budget number.
We are always happy to comply with this request. Our preference is to supply you with a formal estimate so that you have a document confirming our price. A form allows you to easily request a budget estimate for the model(s) you choose.
What are my color choices?
You can request our standard color choice guide, or we can also custom color match from any paint sample you supply. All booths are painted a single color, or you can request an optional multi-color application.
How do you prevent rust on your steel booths?
We clean all steel surfaces then we apply a high-solid, rust inhibitive primer then a finish coat of two-part polyurethane paint.
What is your lead time?
Lead times vary depending on the product and design you choose. Many of our Durasteel buildings include custom design features that typically take longer to produce. We will always try to accommodate your lead time requirements whenever possible so please be sure to discuss this with your Porta-King representative.
How is it shipped?
All security booths are shipped on flatbed trucks and strapped in place to ensure stability during transport. We encourage you to thoroughly inspect your new booth upon arrival and prior to signing the bill of lading.
How do you offload the units?
Most buildings can be off loaded with a forklift. Every booth is shipped with skid gear to enable easy access under the base frame. We can also provide lifting rings in the roof for larger booths or other custom rigging devices to address unique installation requirements.
